What is a QR Code?
A Quick Response (QR) code is a type of two-dimensional matrix barcode invented in 1994 by Denso Wave. It acts like a visual link that machines can scan to access information quickly.
Unlike standard 1D barcodes that only store data horizontally, QR codes store data both horizontally and vertically, allowing them to hold much more information (up to 7089 numeric characters).
How it Works
Position Markers
The three large squares in the corners (Position Detection Patterns) help the scanner determine the code's orientation and size.
Error Correction
Redundant data is added so the code stays readable even if damaged.
Level L: 7% damage recovery.
Level H: 30% damage recovery.
Quiet Zone
The empty white border around the QR code that tells the scanner where the code starts and ends.
